Dean Demizio of Fort Erie will be acclaimed Thursday night as the Ontario Provincial Liberal candidate in the riding of Niagara Falls for the 2018 provincial election to be held in June.
Demizio was born and raised in Niagara Falls. Along with his wife Peggy, he moved to Fort Erie in 1994 and opened a State Farm insurance agency which they still operate today. They have two adult children.
Demizio has been an active volunteer in the community. Among other things, he has been the Campaign Chair for the United Way of Greater Fort Erie, President of the Fort Erie Youth Soccer Club and President of the Greater Fort Erie Chamber of Commerce.`
Demizio is no stranger to political contests as he ran for Mayor of Fort Erie in 2014. He finished fourth behind winner Wayne Redekop, Stephen Passero and Ann-Marie Noyes. `
