Mountainview Building Group, a Niagara-based home builder, designer and construction company, has received the prestigious honours of being recognized as Builder of the Year (Large Volume), and of having the Best Décor Centre, by the Ontario Home Builder Association (OHBA). The awards were presented at the 2024 OHBA Awards of Distinction Gala in Niagara Falls in September.
“This award is a testament to the devotion our team of hardworking, talented individuals puts forth each and every day to ensure their work is making a positive impact on our homebuyers, the community we are so proud to call home and an industry we love,” Mountainview Building Group President Mark Basciano said in recognition of the milestone achievement of being named Builder of the Year. “We are truly honoured.”
Since beginning operations more than 45 years ago, Mountainview has cultivated a renowned reputation for constructing the highest quality residential homes and commercial buildings. Mountainview is among the premier companies in its field and has completed some of the most distinguished development projects in Niagara.
Throughout it all, Mountainview has been a generous partner to a wide variety of local charities. These organizations include Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre, Pathstone Mental Health, FACS Family and Children Services Niagara, Ronald McDonald House South Central and the Niagara Children’s Centre. Mountainview is also a founding donor for the New Niagara Health Hospital, South Niagara Site, for which they contributed $3 million.
“Our success is about more than building homes – it’s about building community,” said Basciano. “That is why this award is particularly special to us, as it recognizes not only exceptional building and design, but also the homebuying experience and the community impact we make through our philanthropy projects – things that we have always been passionate about and make a priority each and every day.”
The Best Décor Centre celebrates Mountainview’s recently opened Design House, which allows homeowners to personalize their homes and choose their interior and exterior finishes. The Design House prides itself on providing a first-class experience for all customers, which is comfortable, enjoyable, and aesthetically pleasing. The Design House does all of this while practically showcasing cutting-edge home design and inspiring customers as they consider options for their residences.

The OHBA Awards of Distinction Gala acknowledged the extraordinary accomplishments of builders, developers, and renovators province-wide.
