What started with 32 teams back in September, is down to four with the AFC and NFC Championship games Sunday.

The early game (3 pm EST) pits the second ranked Philadelphia Eagles home to the sixth seeded Washington Commanders for the right to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl.

Philadelphia is led by MVP candidate, running back, Saquon Barkley, while no doubt NFL Rookie of the Year, quarterback, Jayden Daniels leads a Washington team that is believing in themselves after upsetting the top-seeded Detroit Lions.

Daniels will become just the sixth rookie to start a conference championship game since 1970, but certainly isn’t letting the spotlight change his calm demeanor.

“For me, football is fun and it’s like a safe haven,” Daniels said to reporters during a press conference Wednesday.

“Everything that I’ve been through personally in my life, I’m not really going out there and stressing about the moment because at the end of the day I get to do what I love each and every week, win, lose or draw.

“It’s just a blessing to be one of those kids that are able to fulfill their dream and live out their dream of playing on Sundays in the NFL.”

Back to the Eagles and Barkley, who has totaled 348 yards from scrimmage and four touchdowns in his two games against the Commanders this season.

The late game Sunday is drawing much more of the media’s attention, especially in these parts, as top-ranked Kansas City welcomes No. 2 Buffalo at 6:30 pm EST.

This is the fourth time in the last five years these two teams have met in the postseason with KC victorious in all.

Kansas City is in fact looking to become the first team to three-peat in the Super Bowl, and will appear in its seventh straight AFC Championship Game.

KC has not looked like the powerhouse they’ve been in the past, quarterback Patrick Mahomes numbers have been mediocre at best yet the team is (15-2) overall on the season.

Buffalo is coming off an exhilarating 27-25 victory at Baltimore, and defeated Kansas City 30-21 in Week 11 of the regular season holding the visitors to just 259 yards of total offense.

However, that game was played at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park. Sunday night’s game will take place at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

“I think it’s really similar to kind of what we’ve adopted this year,” explained Allen. “They control the ball extremely well. They don’t make bad decisions. Obviously, Patrick is one of the greatest to ever play the game and they’re one of the greatest teams to ever be assembled. Going for a three-peat, that’s what everybody wants to be in this league. To have the sustained success that they’ve had. They play great situational football. They understand when it’s time to go and when it’s time to kind of fend off someone. That’s what we’re aiming to be.”
