Niagara College will open the doors of its Welland and Niagara-on-the-Lake campuses on Saturday, Nov. 7, giving prospective students and their families an opportunity to explore academic programs, meet faculty and experience hands-on learning.

The college’s Fall Open House runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at both the Welland Campus and Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Visitors will have access to specialized labs, interactive demonstrations, campus tours and information sessions designed to help them make decisions about their postsecondary education.

“Whether you’ve decided to begin your college journey to pursue your dream career, or are just starting to explore your options, we are thrilled to welcome you to our Fall Open House,” said Niagara College President Sean Kennedy.

“There is no better way to experience the NC difference than by walking our vibrant campuses and connecting directly with the faculty and students who bring our programs to life.”

At the Welland Campus, visitors can explore programs in health sciences, nursing, technology, skilled trades, media and justice studies.

The college says demonstrations will include automotive, welding and carpentry workshops, along with tours of dental, massage therapy and rehabilitation training facilities.

Visitors can also watch live drone demonstrations, explore robotics and engineering technology, and get a behind-the-scenes look at media programs through radio broadcasts, film shoots and acting rehearsals.

At the Daniel J. Patterson Campus in Niagara-on-the-Lake, activities will focus on programs including culinary arts, hospitality, business, horticulture and environmental studies.

Highlights include culinary and baking competitions, sausage making, pizza stretching and student mixology demonstrations.

Visitors can tour the college’s Teaching Winery, Teaching Brewery and Teaching Distillery, participate in planting activities at the Teaching Greenhouse and explore virtual reality classrooms and sensory labs.

In addition to academic demonstrations, both campuses will host a Student Services Fair, where visitors can learn about financial assistance, accessibility services and other resources available to students.

Application Hubs will provide one-on-one assistance for those interested in applying to Niagara College.

The college will also offer Early Exploration sessions at 12:30 p.m. for students in Grades 9 to 11 who want to begin planning for postsecondary education.

Short orientation sessions will begin at 9:45 a.m. and run every 15 minutes to help visitors plan their day.

While walk-ins are welcome, Niagara College is encouraging visitors to register in advance.

Pre-registered guests who check in at the event will be entered into a draw for a $5,000 tuition credit. Those who register by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, and attend will also have a chance to win one of ten $100 gift cards.

Additional information and registration details are available through the Niagara College Open House website.
